Things to know!
The main airport to fly into Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). It is about 55 miles away, and about an hour's drive.
You can also get into Provo, UT (PVU), which is about 14 miles southwest of central Sundance, but a smaller airport with limited connections.
As you prepare to join us for the wedding celebration, please take a moment to ensure your travel plans are in order. Starting May 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will enforce the REAL ID requirement for domestic air travel.
This means all adult guests (18 and older) will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card—look for the star symbol—or an acceptable alternative like a passport to board domestic flights. We recommend checking with your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles to confirm your ID status and plan ahead to avoid any travel disruptions. Safe travels, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Utah is in the Mountain Time Zone (MT). Be sure to adjust your travel plans accordingly if you’re coming from a different time zone.
A rental car is recommended if you want to drive around and explore the area. Otherwise, rideshare (Uber/Lyft) options are also available.
June weather at Sundance Resort is generally mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures averaging between 70°F and 80°F. Evenings can be cooler, so we recommend bringing layers or wraps, especially for outdoor events.
The ceremony is in a mountain area, the altitude may be higher than what you’re used to. Stay hydrated and avoid excessive alcohol consumption to prevent altitude sickness.
If you’re prone to altitude sickness, consider arriving a day or two early to acclimate.
For those with heart / lung conditions, please consult with your physician to ensure safety at higher altitude (precise altitude is 6200-8000 ft above sea level).
Outdoor weddings in Utah often feature breathtaking views and natural settings. Be prepared for sun exposure by wearing sunscreen and a hat. The ceremony site at Sundance is in a remote area, cell service may be limited, so plan accordingly.
Utah is known for its stunning natural landscapes and welcoming culture. While alcohol is available, be mindful of local liquor laws if you're exploring outside of the wedding venue/events, which may vary from what you’re used to. Always check hours of operation and availability at restaurants or bars.
We'll have vegetarian and gluten-free options available at the wedding.
Be sure to notify us when you RSVP about your needs in advance so arrangements can be made with the caterer.
